The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, chose a formal gown of diamond white chiffon over bridal satin accentuated with a wide waist band of crystal and pearl beading over lace. The sleeveless gown featured an off the shoulder, V-neck empire surplice bodice. The back of the gown had a deep V-neckline ending with a long row of chiffon covered buttons from her mother?s wedding dress. The full skirt flowed in a chapel length train. She wore a cathedral length veil with crystal edges held in place with a pearl and diamond barrette borrowed from Mrs. Cooper Pinson.

In addition, the bride carried a white handkerchief, originally fashioned as her christening cap.

The bridesmaids carried pillar candles wrapped in McDonald tartan ribbon and decorated with fresh thistle, red berries and ruscus.

John McDole of Atlanta was best man. Groomsmen were John May of Atlanta, Thomas Hitt of San Diego, Calif., brother of the groom, and Austen McDonald of Palo Alto, Calif., brother of the bride. The groomsmen, in formal black kilts with red ties, wore boutonnieres of fresh thistle and red hypericum berries. The groom wore a formal kilt of his family tartan, McLeod-Harris, with a black Prince Charlie jacket.

Following the ceremony a dinner reception was held at Georgia Northwestern Technical College.

The bride and groom cut an oversized red velvet cupcake with cream cheese icing decorated with iridescent pearls and displayed on a walnut pedestal designed and made by the bride?s maternal grandfather, Frank Norment. Guests enjoyed various flavored cupcakes that were a gift and made by Mrs. Mark Jester.

A candy-bar was set up in the foyer for guests to make their own favor.
